‘An early 20th century Art Deco vintage rug designed by Jules Coudyser, having an overall pattern of sand-colored irregular lozenges with pastel flowers and small plaid diamond shapes surrounding them overall that puncture the contrasting abstract flower border. Coudyser was an interior designer who also manufactured and retailed furnishings from his store in Paris. He continued on the tradition of the tapissier-d?corateur and occupied a number of other prestigious positions, including serving as the Vice-President of the textiles committee for the 1925 International Exhibition and as a professor at the Conservatoire des Artes et Mtiers.
