Mid century Olga Fisch Colorful Carpet Caceria (The Hunt) BB7164 10'5" × 14'9" $28,000
This vintage rug created circa 1950 by Olga Fisch is part of her famous Caverna series. This particular line was inspired by the Lascaux cave paintings in France that were discovered in 1940. By the 1960’s, Fisch’s exclusive commission-based carpet business was a resounding success.
The rug’s main field carries a complex design of meandering florals, hunter figures and animals. The pattern is rendered in a polychrome color palette featuring blue, gold, green purple and red against a beige background. The design is teeming with life – this dynamic yet balanced composition will constitute a great statement piece in any interior.
The mid-century rug was carefully woven by hand in accordance with traditional techniques using high-quality wool. Under the condition of proper maintenance, it will serve its owners for generations without any signs of wear.
