Eric Hilton is the director of Eric Hilton Ltd., the New York-based firm established in 2006. Prior to opening his company, Hilton spent thirteen years working with Angelo Donghia and Patrick Nagger as the lead interior designer at the office of the legendary Thierry W. Despont, taking care of both residential and commercial projects on an international level.
Holder of BA in Architecture and a Masters Degree in Renaissance Art from Syracuse University, he is a specialist in pairing together traditional style and modern need for space. Hilton’s project range from chic downtown lofts to traditional French interiors, each designed with characteristic aura of serenity, thanks to his marvelous combination of various colors and textures. Veranda magazine described him as “a seasoned practitioner who jumped at the chance to work with original Renzo Mongiardino interiors and an impressive array of works by the likes of Degas and Bonnard.”. Hilton boldly juxtaposes different patterns, creating stunning mosaics which immediately capture the interest of the most demanding connoisseurs. Eric Hilton Ltd. is specialized in designing original and sophisticated residential interiors. In addition to his architectural projects, Hilton was responsible for designing several marvelous collections of elegant rugs, wallpapers, trim development as well as production of lighting, furniture and accessories lines for the company’s international showrooms.
His design of Holland & Sherry’s first retail venture located in the heart downtown Manhattan, HSBespoke, met with awe and praise from clients and journalists alike: “The H&S Bespoke Store designed by Eric Hilton is set up almost like a speak easy, or a secret treasure, and once you walk in, you are transported into a different world” wrote New American Luxury. Hilton managed to capture the firm’s long history and make it the main feature of his design. Soon, he was hired to design showrooms of Holland & Sherry’s Paris and Anya Coyle’s HANIA in New York City.
