David Nosanchuk is a New York-based designer, who charmed the public with his bold use of geometrical shapes and patterns in his projects. His education at the Cranbrook Academy, located in the heart of Michigan’s artistic community, deeply influenced Nosanchuk and his later designs with traditional solutions.
After earning his degree in art history, David Nosanchuk moved to Los Angeles, where he continued his education at Southern California Institute of Architecture. His stay in the city resulted in development of his woodworking and designing skills.
The unique mix of history, technology and invention is visible in many of his works, mainly the collection of wallpapers, titled “Super Series”, which was based on his private photographs of various examples of art and architecture. The collection met with worldwide admiration, and can be viewed as a part of permanent collections in the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York and Les Art Decoratifs, in Paris. His other works were exhibited at the The Museum of Arts and Design, Museum of the City of New York and the Triennale di Milan, where he designed unique background for the exposition.
The works of Nosanchuk were published in numerous magazines, inter alia the New York Times, WSJ, Elle Décor, Interior Design, Architectural Record, Metropolis, Architectural Digest, Luxe, Vogue, Living Magazine, Detroit Free Press, Interiors, Dwell and Worth. The Culture Trip named him as one of the top ten NYC-based designers and is currently collaborating not only with exclusive brands like Alessi and LG, but also numerous producers of LED and OLED, inventing new usages of light.
