A Mid-20th Century Swedish hand woven wool rug in flat-weave rölakan technique, designed by Rakel Carlander. Monogrammed at one corner: RC. It is a collectible piece in excellent original condition, consistent with age. The main field a grid of small squares displaying diamonds, crosses and other geometric patterns rendered in blues, yellows, purple, gray beige, white, black and dark blue. Two solid borders in melange dark blue and beige enclose the composition. Inspired by traditional Northern European crafts, culture, and nature, vintage Scandinavian rugs enchant with their unpretentious elegance.
