Vintage Arts and Crafts Voysey Rug (Size Adjusted) BB7412 7'5" × 8'11" $12,000
$12,000
Early 20th-century arts and crafts rug was designed by C.F.A. Voysey –an iconic English architect as well as furniture and textile designer. His earliest works, through the late 1880s, have historically-influenced traditional repeat patterns. By the mid-1890s, he was creating his most characteristic and original designs, flowing patterns in pastel colorways with flattened silhouettes of birds, florals, and hearts.
This vintage arts and crafts rug is a paragon of Voysey’s style. The deep blue field carries enlarged curving olive and beige leaves, separated by mint green leafy branches with orange accents within a deep blue border with bold curving leaves. The rug was carefully hand-knotted out of high-quality wool by a skilled artisan which ensured its longevity. If properly maintained, it will serve its owners for generations without any signs of wear.
