Doris Leslie Blau Collection Tribal Style Modern Moroccan Rug in White and Grey N12125 10'0" × 13'5" $14,000
$14,000
Although presently made, this new Moroccan style rug embodies the greatest features of centuries-old oriental weaving craft. It is modeled on Beni Ourains – iconic shaggy rugs originally woven by nomadic tribes from the area of Rif mountains near Taza.
The modern rug is an interpretation of the classic Beni Ourain style. Its off-white pile is crossed by several pile-less lines with delicate black striations which form a minimalistic tribal design. The composition is finished with a simple border and a tassels at the shorter edges of the rug.
This modern Moroccan rug was made in accordance with traditional weaving techniques. Its cushy pile was carefully hand-knotted of high-quality wool by a skilled artisan. Thanks to such a high standard of workmanship, its body is durable, resilient and unique. Under the condition of proper maintenance, the rug will serve its owners for generations without any signs of wear, bringing in warmth and a pinch of Oriental magic.
Moroccan rugs, in their variety of textures, colors, and designs have stood the test of time. They are a classic staple in both classic and modern interiors. Our modern Moroccan rugs are handmade by artisans in small, specialized workshops, following the centuries-old tradition. They are handmade of natural undyed wool or of wool colored with natural dyes. Their designs are either of vintage tribal inspiration or traditional with an original twist, designs exclusive to Doris Leslie Blau.
