Before he became world-famous designer, Gabhan O’Keeffe worked as decorative arts dealer, which gave him priceless experience not only as a creator, but also a leader of his present team composed of sixteen talented individuals.
The designer started his London-based company in 1988, together with George Warrington. Luscious color palette, luxurious textures, grand patterns and best craftsmanship are the most characteristic features of O’Keeffe‘s design. He mainly concentrates on private properties in London and Russia, incorporating a “a broad spectrum of architectural and decorative styles”. Furniture designer, Rupert Bevan, called O’Keeffe “extremely talented and uses colors and luxurious materials to create light, spacious and bright interiors, often with a fun twist”. His love for hand-make object and originality, helps the designer to create one of a kind rooms, full of tasteful additions and artistic touches. O’Keeffe’s belief is that “every project is distinct and a challenge in its own right. I use the vocabulary in my head, pick out details relevant to the commission, and build on those in a creative way”.
Sketch restaurant located in London and collection of architecture and furniture for the Robert Lehman Collection in New York are a few among many examples of his work. Thanks to attention to detail and professionalism, O’Keeffe has a devoted clientele, consisting of VIP’s such as the Archduke and Archduchess von Habsburg, Princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis and Bryan Ferry.
