This antique Persian Heriz rug dating back to circa 1920 beautifully captures the essence of its mother-town craftsmanship. Its main field, filled with traditional kilim motifs, carries an allover medallion grid with vines and palmettes. It is embraced by a multiple border where flowering climbers and ornament are the main theme. As befits a Heriz rug, the palette consists of many contrasting colors including red, blue, pink and beige, which are muted for proper balance.
