Authentic Tribal Moroccan Beige, Black, Orange, Yellow Handmade Wool Rug BB7613 5'8" × 9'10" $7,000
$7,000
This vintage Moroccan rug dates back to 1955 and is hand-woven out of wool. The quality of the wool used in Moroccan rugs is well-known and the reason why they are very durable. The carpet’s colors, beige, black, orange, red and yellow, have retained their vibrancy despite the passage of years, and the orange of the main field remains striking. The carpet’s pattern contains traditional, tribal geometric motifs. Its handcrafted nature is also apparent in the irregularity of some of these motifs – a sure mark of authenticity.
From versatile flatweaves to shaggy hand-knotted area rugs or runners, Moroccan rugs are both decorative and functional. They are valued for their technical qualities, expert use of fibers, great tensile strength, and abrasion resistance. Without a doubt, the original tribal Moroccan rugs from the Doris Leslie Blau collection bring character and a touch of worldliness to an interior.
