A mid-century hand-knotted Swedish wool pile rug by textile designer Barbro Nilsson. She is known as a master of color and form, her creativity with carpets makes her unique among Scandinavian textile artists from the 20th century. Barbro Nilsson’s designs were inspired by nature and used natural colors. This rug features a row of four central medallions on a neutral border with lattice design in ivory. The border that consists of small circles filled with flower flakes. Long-tassel fringes are present along the shorter ends. This is an essential piece for any mid century modern inspired space. The rug is in excellent original condition, consistent with age.
