$9,800

The Samarkand weaving center is the birthplace of some of the most intriguing and diverse carpets in the world. This remarkable contemporary Samarkand rug is an example of this astounding craftsmanship influenced by almost every existing oriental weaving culture, from Persian and Turkish to Indian and Chinese.

Its main field is covered with a dense allover pattern of pomegranate tree branches with ripe fruits, symbolizing fertility, prosperity and luck. The composition is enclosed within a series of equally compelling borders containing various geometric, architectural and botanical rug motifs. Taupe from the background is accompanied by the light slate gray pattern .

However, the appearance is not the only merit of this incredible treasure. The modern Samarkand rug was expertly hand-knotted of the finest wool in accordance with old and refined weaving techniques and dyed with natural dyes only. Such thorough making ensured the carpet’s durability and quality. If properly maintained, it will surely serve its owners for generations without any signs of wear. The rug, characterized by timeless elegance and recherché charm, will match a wide variety of interior arrangements, from classic to contemporary.
