Ike Kligerman Barkley Swedish Design Rug N11298 10'0" × 14'6"

This contemporary Swedish design flat weave rug by Ike Kligerman Barkley features an all-over design of a checkerboard pattern with alternating light and dark green rectangles separated by light grey-green lines that also compose the main border of the carpet. Linear accents in dark brown appear throughout the contemporary carpet to add intrigue to the minimalist pattern. Reminiscent of 20th century modern Swedish rugs made by renowned artists such as Märta Måås-Fjetterström, this piece is striking in its modernist simplicity. In Sweden, carpets and rugs have been hand-knotted in wool for centuries, taking on many different forms and functions over the course of time, with designers making rugs that have a broad international appeal. This tradition is continued by American design company Ike Kligerman Barkley, with hints of Scandinavian modernism apparent in the contemporary carpet.(SOLD)
