Persian rugs are known all around the world. From Europe to Australia, every collector is dying to have at least one antique Persian carpet, but sometimes to choose one from a number of different types is extremely difficult, not to mention the risk of purchasing a counterfeited piece! However, with Doris Leslie Blau you have nothing to worry about. Each and every one of our exquisite Persian rugs is 100 % authentic, handpicked by our devoted crew in order to ensure your total satisfaction.
Woven by hand in the Tabriz region of Iran circa 1870, this elegant Persian rug immediately catches the eye with its stunning pattern. While the carpet has three visible central medallions, the weaver decided to make them a part of the composition rather than separating them from the whole. The pattern seems to depict vines climbing upwards with numerous delicate flowers in full bloom adorning them. The shape of this composition seems to reference a traditional motif known as the “Tree of Life”. Frame surrounding the central field is heavily decorated, but instead of overwhelming it helps to balance this composition out.
Color palette of this antique Persian rug plays an important role in the final effect, however, it lacks standoffish hues that might irritate after a while. Instead, the weaver opted for very elegant shades of brown, black and crème with a bit of gray. The size of this antique carpet, 6’2″ × 7’10” (188 × 239 cm), makes it a perfect addition to any household.
