This medium-sized antique rug encompasses the essence of the enormous Tabriz carpet heritage. It was made in the renowned Tabriz weaving center which is world-famous for its excellent techniques, wide array of classic patterns and upmost artistic sensibility of the weavers. The rug’s main field is occupied by two exceptionally important Persian motifs . Its central part proudly bears an expansive flowering Tree of Life accompanied by a pair of cypresses, half hidden behind the first of the series of decorative borders. Such an arrangement of symbols expresses a desire for eternal life, all the more the antique rugs main colors – gold and azure – seem to confirm that powerful message.
This beautiful picture is enclosed within thick borders embellished with millefleur and foliage, adding even more charm and glamour to this graceful composition. As befits a genuine Tabriz creation, the Persian carpet was masterfully hand-knotted of the finest wool in accordance with old and refined weaving techniques by a skilled artisan.
