Oversized Antique Persian Kirman Rug, an early 20th century antique Persian Kirman rug. Circa: 1910, Origin: Persia. Woven in early 20th century by skilled handcrafter, this antique carpet was made in Kiriman style, named after province in Iran. Rug’s impressive size was not an obstacle for its weaver who covered the surface of his masterpiece with dainty pattern. Despite its complexity, rug’s design is a visual feast for the eye, filling spectators with nothing but admiration. Dominating browns, beiges and dark blues merge together, creating exquisite mosaic, rich and unique. The reason why we can appreciate this marvelous piece of Iranian weaving decades after it was created, is its astonishing quality. Made with natural fibers, mainly famed Carmania wool, and dyes, this antique rug is of high knot density, characteristic for legendary Persian rugs.
