Its highly decorative pile proudly carries an allover lattice of medallions containing iconic Persian patterns such as palmettes, flower trellis, trees of life and vases – all intricately executed and saturated with symbolism. The equally compelling borders build on the roundels with Shah Abbas and tiny flower heads, all connected with a graceful ribbon adorned with even more flowery motifs.

The color rug palette was clearly selected by the hand of a master – the prevailing ivory and sage tones are invigorated by pale brick red and given depth thanks to the jewel-like navy blue which resides both in some of the medallions of the main field and in the main border. This pure excellence was masterfully hand-crafted of the finest wool in old and refined weaving techniques by a skilled artisan.
