Antique Karabagh Carpet BB6581

Price: $12,000

Many people call Karabagh rug “the treasures of Orient” and not without a reason. Their beauty was admired for centuries and continues to be even today. Collectors of antique rugs and rug aficionados dream to make such pieces the crown jewels of their collection, making them extremely sought after in certain circles. This particular caucasian rug was woven circa 1900 by a skilled artisan and survived until our times thanks to the great quality of its weave. What makes it especially interesting is its pattern. On the central field we can see a rich allover design, featuring plants local for the region where this rug was woven. The border, while keeping the floral motif, sports beautiful blossoms, connected together by thin vines. The color palette is kept in warm earthy tones of various browns, usually with a hint of orange and black.
