An antique Persian Tabriz rug, hand-knotted in wool and dating back to circa 1920. This area rug exemplifies the magnificence and intricacy of the Tabriz rugs of the early twentieth century. It features a deep blue border with an intricate pattern of vines and palmettes, and a beige main field filled with botanical motifs in rust, brown, aqua-blue and deep blue. The vines set out calligraphic contours within the main field, creating a stunning visual composition. This carpet is a one-of-a-kind, authentic specimen of Persian rugmaking originating from Tabriz.
