This fabulous piece of Swedish weaving craft immediately draws the eye with its original pattern and balanced color palette. Woven circa 1956 by a talented craftsman, the vintage carpet has a totally flat pile, perfect for people who dislike frequent vacuuming and those suffering from allergies. While it might not be as soft as antique rugs with a high pile, it certainly compensates it with its superior quality of weave and beauty.

While its pattern has a rather traditional form and utilizes geometric figures, the way they were placed and unseen harmony in the composition astonishes from the very beginning. On the central field we see four squares, halved by straight lines and accompanied by small triangles. Above them we can see serrated flag-like shapes which help to anchor the design. The color palette is not without meaning here – warm tones of beige and brow and much cooler shades of gray balance each other perfectly.
