Authentic Persian Malayer Handmade Wool Runner BB6110 3'6" × 12'6" $15,000
$15,000
This circa-1920 antique Persian Malayer runner rug features an intricate all-over design of repeating diamond shapes containing linear abstractions in shades of inky blue, peach and brown, against a beige field densely patterned with small geometric motifs. A thin ice blue border completes the look of the early 20th century antique carpet, a runner style that can be used in narrow spaces or to join adjacent rooms.
Antique Malayer rugs come from the city of Malayer in Iran and were, for the most part, created by individual weavers during the 19th and early 20th centuries. These antique Persian rugs and carpets are singular in their broad range of designs and color palette, making them stunning artistic creations. The value of the rugs reflects their artistry in that the diversity of design and color is somewhat atypical for other styles of Persian rugs.
