A mid-century Swedish flat-weave wool rug by Barbro Nilsson with woven initials (BN) and (MMF) at the corners. It is in excellent original condition, consistent with age. The geometric composition alternates shaded rectangles separated by horizontal and vertical lines. The rug is rendered in brown, taupe, gray, yellow, blue, beige and green.

Barbro Nilsson became the director of the weaving workshop established by Märta Måås-Fjetterström in Sweden, in 1919. He continued her legacy upon her death, developing original patterns blending folk and traditional handicrafts with Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles.
