Vintage Rostaggen Swedish Flat Weave Rug by Marianne Richter BB6425

This incredibly delicate and enchanting flat-weave rug was created by the absolute legend of Swedish textile design, Marianne Richter, in the famed workshop of the great Marta Maas-Fjetterstrom. Richter’s feminine touch and superb taste have turned this simplistic rug into a genuine work of art that will easily fit into contemporary interior arrangements and satisfy even the most demanding customers. At first glance one may notice that the carpet is deeply embedded into Scandinavian aesthetics. Both the main field and the borders are kept in unanimous spirit and, by means of minimalistic geometric motifs, express a consistent thought of the artist. The charming flat-weave, divided into two identical halves, brings to mind wild roses in full bloom. This gentle effect if provided by the masterly composed color palette of dusty rose, carmine, off-white and ivory with barely visible touches of burgundy. As befits a piece from the renowned MMF weaving center, this classy rug was thoroughly hand-knotted of the finest wool in accordance with old and refined techniques which contributed to its durability and fantastic quality. The Swedish flat-woven rug by Marianne Richter is a real treat to all design aficionados who appreciate sublime beauty and never-passing elegance of Scandinavian creations.
