Doris Leslie Blau Collection Traditional Inspired Tabriz Botanic Beige Wool Rug N11698 6'0" × 8'9" $8,500
$8,500
Dreamy, airy and delicate, this Tabriz-inspired modern carpet takes what’s best from the traditional oriental art and craft of carpet making and takes it to the next level thanks to the contemporary touch of minimalism. The main field is covered in an allover pattern of meandering vinery and floral motifs with palmettes and stylized foliage – such botanical designs, deprived of the central medallion, are extremely characteristic of the Tabriz weaving center.
This nature-related composition is enclosed within a series of consecutive borders adorned with further floral motifs, Shah Abbas and flowering climbers. The color palette, based on subtle tones of light gray and blue, is purposefully washed-out to tone the rich design and give it an air of mystery. Although presently made, the floor covering matches the outstanding quality of traditional oriental rugs as it was thoroughly hand-made according to a skilled artisan’s centuries-old techniques of first-rate materials. If properly maintained, the Tabriz-inspired rug will withstand many years of usage without any signs of wear.
Due to its light disposition, this piece of modern weaving will easily match a wide array of interior décors, from classic to state-of-the-art.
Doris Leslie Blau carries an exceptional collection of original modern rugs in many styles and materials. Contemporary hand-made rugs are a bridge throughout history, they are the fruit of the constant evolution of the weaving craft that has accompanied men since the dawn of civilization.
