$35,000
Antique Tabriz rugs are widely known for their diversity, as they can range from flat to high pile weaves. Patterns of Tabriz rugs can feature not only traditional Persian motifs, but sometimes also fully-fledged reproductions of famous works of art. Craftsmen from the city of Tabriz are famed for their great talent – after all, Persian rugs they create are worthy of kings and some of them did found their way to various courts and palaces.
This exquisite Tabriz rug was hand woven in the late 19th century, circa 1880. The elegance of its stunning pattern certainly draws attention, as it was undoubtedly created by the master of weaving. Highly decorative central medallion seems to be made of three separate parts, which together create one stunning whole. It is surrounded by an allover design of whimsical palmettes and flower motifs and bordered by a distinctive frame of delicate blossoms. Color palette of this antique Tabriz rug contains mostly subdued shades of beige and brown, which were enhanced using terracotta red.
The size of this antique Persian rug, 9’0″ × 13’7″ (274 × 414 cm), makes it a perfect addition to spacious interiors, especially those in need of some classic beauty that only Persian rugs can provide you with.
