Authentic Persian Tabriz Botanic Pink, Red Hand Knotted Wool Carpet BB7451 6'2" × 18'0" $65,000
$65,000
This late 19th century Persian rug was made in Tabriz, the capital of the northwestern Iranian province of Azerbaijan, which for centuries has been the center of Persian culture and the most important weaving center in Persia. The antique rug carries one of the most iconic Persian designs – a vase design – consisting of a vase and enlarged highly-stylized palmettes linked by delicate flowering vinery overall within a narrow flowerhead and floral spray border. The color palette featuring dusty pink, extinguished red, beige and shades of blue is invigorating and eye-catching – thanks to such a colorway, the rug will easily become a focal point of any design.
In addition to its artistic value, this antique Persian rug can boast of exceptional workmanship. It was carefully hand-knotted out of wool by a skilled artisan in accordance with traditional techniques. Thanks to such execution, this antique Persian rug still looks as if it was just taken down from the looms. If properly maintained, it will serve its owners foe generations without any signs of wear.
