A mid-century, Swedish geometric, flat weave wool rug made by Evy Svensson with woven initials (ES) at a corner. It is in excellent original condition, consistent with age. The hand of the master is visible in every inch of the qualitative fabric which was thoroughly hand-woven of the finest wool in accordance with traditional techniques to ensure its durability. This impeccable quality is followed by balanced and versatile appearance, ready to match a wide variety of modern interior arrangements. The main field is adorned with bold geometric motifs being a a great example of classic Swedish design. The color palette of this piece includes mostly shades of dark green, light green, pink, blue and gray. Beautiful fringe on the vintage rug’s top and bottom part is a nice finishing touch, which gives it even more charm.
