The rug itself was created circa 1950, using flat weave technique. What immediately catches the eye, despite its apparent simplicity, is the original geometric pattern. Different rectangular shapes incorporated in this vintage carpet are surprisingly modern, in spite of the pattern’s traditional design. Brown and black lines dotted by beige squares join together in their middles, crowned by pyramid-like brown and orange forms, with the whole pattern surrounded by a serrated frame. Toned shades of warm browns, beiges and oranges form a pleasant color scheme, which together with the design, creates a tasteful combination.
