Persian Kilim Rug in Shades of Beige, and Brown BB7300 9'2" × 9'3" $5,500
$5,500
This vintage Persian flat-weave rug was made circa 1955. Its parts were woven on narrow looms first and then stitched together by hand to create the vast field before your eyes. The design of stripes is enriched thanks to three diamonds – symbols of protection – and two zigzag motifs which in the Orient stand for running water, a very scarce resource in the desert. The color palette based on various shades of beige and brown is going to match a wide variety of interior arrangements, at the same time bringing in a breath of natural beauty and oriental charm.
As befits a Persian rug, the flat-weave was hand-made of high-quality wool dyed with natural dyes in accordance with centuries-old techniques. Thanks to such careful execution, the rug withstood years of usage in perfect condition and, if provided minimum amount of care, it will surely serve its owners for generations without any signs of wear.
