Vintage Samarkand Rug BB6283 5'9" × 8'10" $5,000

$5,000

Vintage Samarkand Rug, Circa: 1940, Origin: Samarkand, a mid 20th century pile-woven Rug. Exceptional, sophisticated and ideal for connoisseurs. The soft tint of the vintage runner rug was formed by the passing time. It enchants with powdery pink, soft peachy orange and vanilla beige. The design of the pattern resembles Chinese Vintage rugs.

Huge medallion that is decorated with floral motifs, birds and their marks is precisely mapped in the main part of the composition. The border is covered with lines separated from the rest of the structure with small white flowers. Because Samarkand is located on the old silk route, the carpet reflects influences of many cultures. For example, its flowers and curving oval elements were borrowed from Mughal antique area rugs. It also looks very noble, due to the Abrash effect. It’s a beautiful item for demanding prospectors.
