This beautiful vintage rug is a classic example of the exceptional Samarkand artistry. The khotan rugs main field is occupied by an allover geometricized pattern of pomegranates – the oriental symbol of fertility and prosperity. It is enclosed within a series of borders, each bearing a completely different motif. The rich design is complemented by a tasteful color palette based on warm shades of caramel, camel, sandy beige and brown.
