This vintage Moroccan rug fully explains the obsession of the mid-20th century Modernists with authentic Oriental weaving craft. Its face carries an abstract and minimalist design of extremely lax geometric motifs outlined with thin brown line against the carmine background. Everything is finished with an off-white fringe that adds a folkloristic charm to this eclectic yet perfectly balanced composition. The carpet was carefully hand-knotted of the finest wool in accordance with centuries-old techniques by a skilled artisan which resulted in its remarkable quality and extremely pleasurable, shaggy pile. If properly maintained, it has a chance to withstand years of usage without any signs of wear bringing in chic and timeless elegance.
