While decorating with bold rugs might be a difficult task, the results can make even your wildest dreams come true. Contemporary rugs, comparing to antique carpets, are more prone to breaking the rules of interior design with their patterns and colors, but it is rarely done just for the shock value. With time we all grow tired of various classic trends, so weavers have to come up with completely new solutions and ideas in order to satisfy our appetites for high quality bold rugs.
This stunning contemporary rug was woven in Morocco, a country famed for one of the most beautiful and boldest rugs in Africa. What draws the eye to it is wonderful pattern visible on the pile. It features a patchwork composition that does not seem to have a common theme, except for while polka dot design. Uneven patches sprawled on the entire surface bring a strange sense of order to this otherwise chaotic whole. The color palette is as bold as the pattern, as it mixes hues which are not often seen together – blue, orange and red. Contrast between the three is somehow softened by the presence of white and gray.
Doris Leslie Blau’s antique rugs and contemporary carpets collection is famed for its size and quality. We are proud to offer our clients only the best of the best rugs available. Our rugs continue to be featured on the pages of the top interior magazines in the industry, such as Elle Decor and Architectural Digest.
