Antique Rugs in the Netherlands

“The rest of the world is huge” – this Dutch proverb is a great example of how small is the Netherlands. “Netherlands” literally means “lower countries”, influenced by its low land and flat geography, with only about 50% of its territory exceeding one meter above sea level. Nevertheless, this tiny land distinguishes itself with rich culture and history, and nowadays belongs to the most prosperous economies in the globe. Doris Leslie Blau has always tried to bring the charm enclosed in antique  rugs closer to people, closer to you. We opened our galleries in multiple locations in order to let you experience the sheer beauty of antique, vintage Persian, oriental rug and carpets with your own eyes and hands.

Exclusive collection of antique, vintage, Persian rugs for sale including our famous collection of large area rugs by Doris Leslie Blau. Nader Bolour the owner of Doris Leslie Blau’s rugs and carpets gallery is the largest rugs dealer in the world. We invite you to view the largest collection of antique rugs and carpets  for sale.

The capital, Amsterdam, also has humble origins. It started off as a fishing village only to transform into an artistic enclave and become the birthplace of such renowned artists as Vincent van Gogh or Rembrandt. The inhabitants of the Netherlands seek only the finest goods and are among the most demanding and conscious shoppers. It clearly explains why the Netherlands is such a receptive and absorbent market for antique rugs and vintage looking rugs. For over 50 years, Doris Leslie Blau has been committed to delivering supreme floor coverings, including mysterious and opulent Persian rugs, bohemian and magical Turkish carpets or charming and trendy vintage Scandinavian flat-weaves among many others, not to mention fantastic custom rugs, tailored individually for each respectable customer. We are honored to be a leading provider of antique rugs to the Netherlands and other European countries.

The Owner of Doris Leslie Blau – Nader Bolour

Growing up in Iran, carpets were Nader’s playground, so one may fairly say that ancient weaves and luxurious materials flow in his veins. His family established Bolour & Sons in the 1920s in their homeland, gaining global recognition as the most trusted and respectable dealers in their field. Sensing the changing socio-political changes coming upon Iran, the Bolour family relocated to London where they founded Y&B Bolour in 1978. There, Nader honed his knowledge about the carpet industry under the watchful and expert eye of his father. The younger Bolour developed an uncanny ability to understand both the market and his buyers. Nader’s first meeting with Doris Leslie Blau, a great connoisseur of antique Oriental rugs, marked a beginning of a new era for the rug industry. Few years later, when the two of them met again, they formed a partnership. Nader purchased Doris Leslie Blau Gallery in 1997. Apart from being an exquisite dealer of rugs, Nader Bolour is a designer himself, which is reflected in the gallery’s wide array of custom carpets, made from the finest materials available for our demanding clientele. Whether you seek a rug from Nader or you desire his original design, you can rest assured that he is prepared to deliver a bit of soul to your home.
