Antique Persian Serapi Deep Red, Brown, Blue and Beige Wool Rug BB7011 9'8" × 11'3" $45,000
$45,000
While Serapi rugs (known also as Heriz rugs) are considered to be a part of the Tabriz family, there are many differences between their designs. The design of Heriz rugs was developed throughout the centuries, basing on local traditions and patterns appearing in neighboring villages and its best-known part is undoubtedly a central medallion. In many cases the medallion itself is large enough for all its corners to touch the inner border of the carpet, however smaller ones are also common.
Woven in the early 20th century, circa 1930, this stunning antique rug is everything a stylish home could ask for. The carpet is made of the highest quality materials, which makes it not only soft to touch, but also extremely durable. The rug boasts an all-over pattern depicting a stunning and complex floral composition, which looks almost like spider’s web. The color palette of the rug features beautiful deep shade of red, accompanied by brown, blue and beige.
