Persian Hamadan Runner BB6508 3'0" × 7'0" $8,000

$8,000

The beauty of antique Persian rugs is legendary among both antique carpet aficionados and collectors, but what about runners? This stunning piece dazzles with not only its elaborate pattern, but also astonishing quality and condition. Woven in the Iranian city of Hamadan circa 1930 by an undoubtedly skilled artisan, the Hamadan rug displays an interesting color palette, characteristic for this region.

While it is composed mostly of very simple shades of beige as well as brown with highlights of white and black, the way those dyes were used shows the genius of the rug’s runners weaver. Not a single element is out of place in this beautiful display, you can be sure! The opulence of pattern delights the eye. In the central field we can see a stunning medallion in a shape of hexagon, accompanied by two smaller ones. The whole is crowned with an elegant frame, which has been decorated with tiny pattern of its own.
