Authentic Early 20th Century Persian Malayer Botanic Rug BB5866 4'3" × 6'4" $7,000

$7,000

This antique Persian Malayer rug features an intricate all-over design with garden imagery and floral abstractions, as well as vinery and stylized birds in a muted patina comprised of brown and blue hues against a field of light beige. A light brown border containing geometric abstractions in soft blue follows the perimeter of the antique carpet. Antique Malayer Persian carpets come from the city of Malayer in Iran and were, for the most part, created by individual weavers during the 19th and early 20th centuries. These antique area rugs and carpets are singular in their broad range of designs and color palette, making them stunning artistic creations. The value of the rugs reflects their artistry in that the diversity of design and color is somewhat atypical for other styles of Persian rugs in NYC.
