Antique Persian Malayer Rug BB5613 4'0" × 9'0" $20,000

$20,000

An antique Persian Malayer rug of modern sensibilities. Symmetric design with alternating rows of large stylized floral elements within concentric multiple borders including a rather traditional border of detailed florals. Warm hues of terracotta, brown, tan, beige and ivory are interspersed by spare cool-blue accents.

Malayer Persian rug patterns come from the city of Malayer. This city lies between Hamadan and Sarouk within Iran. Antique rugs were created by individual weavers during the 1800s and early 1900s for the most part. These rugs display uniqueness in the broad range of designs and choice of colors. They are true artistic creations, and their value reflects their artistry.
