This stunning antique Tabriz rug was woven in the early 20th century, circa 1920. The beauty of its colors can be rivaled only by the elegance of pattern. The main field features a mosaic-like composition, containing scenes involving plants and animals. The whole is bordered by a skillfully designed frame.  Color palette of this piece was composed using shades of beige, blue and green. However, a bit of black and brown used to give this antique Persian rug more depth allowed it to create a wonderful contrast between light and dark colors.
