$9,000
The simplicity and uniqueness of vintage Swedish rugs gives them an immediate relevance and contemporary desirability. Swedish rugs dazzle with effortless elegance. However, what makes vintage Scandinavian rugs so special is not how they look, but how deeply rooted they are in Swedish culture and tradition. Designs of Swedish rugs invoke a familiar feeling of warmth, which can make even the coldest interiors look homely and inviting. It is no wonder that they are as highly sought after among all types of antique carpets and vintage rugs. Scandinavian rugs are more than just floor coverings – they are pieces of traditional art.
This stunning vintage rug was woven in the mid 20th century, circa 1940. While its pattern certainly draws the eye, what really amazes about this Swedish carpet is its superior craftsmanship. The pattern includes a geometric allover pattern, which looks like snowflakes falling down from the sky. Two horizontal and two vertical stripes cutting through the pattern are adorned with a series of letter “S”. Color palette of this vintage rug features mostly gentle shades of neutral beige and brown, however, addition of gray and white was a genius move that allow to highlight the best parts of the pattern without overwhelming it.
The size of this Swedish rug, 3’10” × 7’3″ (117 × 221 cm), makes it a perfect fit for any type of interior, even the smallest ones! If you want to experience the ultimate luxury, be sure to browse through Doris Leslie Blau’s collection of both antique rugs and vintage carpets. We can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
