Many weavers of vintage Swedish rugs were ahead of their time in terms of design, but few could rival the natural talent and genius of Ellen Stahlbrand. Stahlbrand created numerous characteristic textiles and had a huge impact on vintage Scandinavian flat-weave rugs. Her hard work managed to put Sweden on the map of international design, certainly helping it to become the global hub of design. In her work Stahlbrand often took traditional folk motifs and reinvented them with a modern twist to a great success. This stunning vintage Swedish rug was woven in the mid 20th century, circa 1940. Despite its simplicity, rug’s design is very elegant. Such a luxurious piece is bound to charm even the most demanding connoisseurs. The main field that has a very subtle irregular Greek Key border . An inner border is created with connected boxed U shapes and squares. Color palette of this piece contains mostly shades of green mixed with coral red and just a little bit of beige and brown.
