A vintage Swedish tapestry/rug titled “Renaisance”, by famed Marta Maas-Fjetterström. This rug demonstrates her capabilities in design and her chromatic sensibility. Subdued tones of ivory, beige, tan and brown cover the background against which bright blues and a few pink accents stand out. The rug is in 100% Nordic lambs wool, and natural dyes. In Sweden, carpets and rugs have been hand-knotted in wool for centuries, taking on many different forms and functions over the course of time.
