Antique rugs can stand on their own for historical importance and cultural significance. Each culture ensures the longevity of their design iconography through the making of the rugs. Read more... Social Circles
We are blogging about art and design in the present and in the past.
This weeks blog "Social Circles" is about an era of design that was centered around Paris begining in the 1920's. At the time French Deco might have been considered a culture as well as a style.
Music and Art were moving in a new direction as was interior design.

It was said to me many years ago by Doris Leslie Blau that a good rug is like a poem on the floor. With antique rugs, the lives that have been lived on the rugs and the histories of their makers are what give them meaning, while their beautiful patterns, colors, and weaves can be interpreted as their rhythm.
