The site on which Moscow is located was a human settlement since times immemorial. However, the city itself started out as an insignificant village of which first mentions are dated to be from the 11th century. From that moment on, Moscow started to develop slowly, but surely, until it became the residence of Tzars and their families. After the revolution in 1917, Moscow became the seat of new communist government, but its political significance remained even after USSR dissolved. The city still remember its turbulent history, a lot of which was preserved in its unique architecture. Probably the most famous building and Russia’s symbol is as Saint Basil’s Cathedral with its brightly colored onion shaped domes. The Moscow Kremlin and Red Square are also one of several World Heritage Sites located in the city worth mentioning. City’s architecture underwent a dramatic change during the communism, when authorities tried to modernize it. Sadly, this caused some of Moscow’s most prominent buildings to be destroyed, although in the 1990’s some of them were rebuild.

His family established the Bolour&Sons enterprise in the 1920’s in Iran and quickly gained recognition as one of the most distinguished rug dealers worldwide. The Bolours created Y&B Bolour in 1978, after moving their business to London, where Nader Bolour had his first meeting with Doris Leslie Blau, a great connoisseur of antique Oriental rugs. Few years later, when the two of them met again, they formed a partnership. Nader purchased Doris Leslie Blau Gallery in 1997.
