Description:
An early 20th century French Art Deco rug, the abstract purple geometric square border around a contrasting brown centerpiece with attenuated yellow-trimmed polka dot palmettes in a frame of playful polychrome floral motifs. The pattern of this rug suggests that it may have been designed by Maurice Dufrene (1876-1955), a French decorator and designer who created similar rugs in the 1920's.
